Kathleen got an air fryer for her birthday in August. She made these and they were so good. She tried the jalapenos, too and we liked them!
Air Fryer, Fried Pickles and Jalapenos
sliced jalapenos, canned
1 3/4 -2 cups breadcrumbs
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup buttermilk we added 2 t. lemon juice to regular milk
1/2 tablespoon dried dill
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
cooking oil spray
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil.
Dry the pickles /and or jalapenos completely with a paper towel.
Place flour, dill, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix to combine. Add the buttermilk and egg to the seasoned flour, stir well.
Add the breadcrumbs to a separate bowl.
Dredge the pickles in the flour buttermilk mixture and then in the breadcrumbs.
Place the breaded pickles on a plate and freeze for 15 minutes.
Place the pickles in the air fryer. Do not stack them. Cook in batches if needed. Spray the pickles with cooking oil.
Cook for 7-10 minutes on 400 degrees flipping after 5 minutes. Each air fryer brand will cook at different speeds..
